"Helen and I purchased our 2012 Impala from Holz based on our experience buying and servicing our '06 Impala. We're now a two Impala family! We obviously love the Impala! Based on my long time car buying experience, Mark Fleischmann is a true professional and gentleman and made the buying experience hassle free. The price was great and the trade allowance was extremely fair. I've been a Chevy owner for over 50 years and you can bet that Holz will be our dealer for our next new Chevrolet! Thanks to all the staff involved with our purchase. You've got a lot to be proud of!" -Jim & Helen

"Bought a 2012 Equinox from Lisa. Any questions that Lisa couldn't answer were answered quickly by the sales manager Don. Besides picking a hard to find trim level/ vehicle, everything went very well. Don and Lisa were able to meet me in the middle on a reasonable price, and I left happy in my new Equinox. Would recommend this dealership, especially if you are considering going to Braeger Chevy on S. 27th St." -Brian

"Bought my 2012 Equinox a few weeks back and have an exceptional experience with the dealership. I took a LONG time to make my decision and my sales person, Brian Bockholt, was patient and professional every step of the way. When I made my decision to purchase the Equinox (over other brands), Brian gave me by far the best deal right off the bat. In fact, it was because of the totally positive experience with Brian that I made my decision months ago that if I decided on the Equinox, I would buy from Holz because of him." -Gooper

After Almost 11,000 Miles, Jay Leno Closes In on a Year Without Refueling His Chevy Volt

Leno

The comedian and late-night television host said he had put about 11,000 miles on his Chevrolet Volt in the last 11 months.

“They gave it to me with a full tank of gas,” he said. The tank, by the way, holds 9.3 gallons. “I’ve used less than half of that.”

Mr. Leno’s expansive garage is in Burbank, and every car is maintained with a full tank of gas, current registration and valid insurance, so he can select any one of them for a drive. Some of the cars are almost never driven.

Not so his Volt. It has quickly become a favorite.

“It’s my daily driver,” he said. “It really is. I commute in it to work every day. My commute, and all my other daily running around, totals less than 35 miles.”

Chevrolet claims that the Volt can travel about 40 miles on electric power alone, under normal driving conditions, before the juice in the batteries would be depleted, after which the car’s small gasoline engine would provide added range.

“You get 40 miles free, as they say,” Mr. Leno said. “Because of the way I drive it, it almost never kicks into gasoline mode.”

Mr. Leno echoed one of the primary marketing points used by Chevrolet to differentiate the Volt from purely electric cars like the Nissan Leaf.

“I mean, I could jump in it and drive to Vegas,” he said, a trip of about 280 miles, door to door, from Burbank. “They say the range is something like 400 miles.” The Leaf can travel roughly 100 miles before requiring a charge.

Aside from the mileage, Mr. Leno said he was also pleased with the rest of the car, especially its technology. “It’s a real breakthrough,” he said. “I know people probably get tired of hearing me say that. But it really is.”

2012 Chevrolet Camaro becomes first car to ace all NHTSA safety tests

Crash
The Camaro usually compels us to forget about most things other than horsepower, quarter-mile times and smoky burnouts. As such, "safe" would have to be somewhere near the bottom of attributes that come to mind when we think about the venerable pony car with a Chevrolet badge on its decklid.

But here it is in black and white (and yellow): The Chevy Camaro coupe is the first vehicle to earn a perfect score in National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's safety testing since the federal testing procedures were revised for 2011, according to Examiner.com. While other vehicles have earned an overall NHTSA 5-Star Safety Rating, the Camaro was the first to score a perfect five-star rating in all six test categories. Those include frontal barrier crash test ratings for the driver and passenger, side crash ratings for the driver and passenger, a rollover rating and the vehicle's overall rating.

While the report indicates that NHTSA has not yet tested its entire slate of 2012 model year vehicles, of the 46 that have completed the process, only 14 have received a 5-Star Safety Rating. Even if the Camaro's safety score is an outlier among the other accolades it has received over the years – you know, the NHRA, Trans-Am and SCCA hardware and such – kudos to Chevy.

A new film, CHEVY100: An American Story, explores the historical and cultural relevance of an iconic brand

A century ago Chevrolet had a notion that cars could be so much more than a utility to get people from point A to B. Chevy set out to make something that would stir up emotion and create an intimate relationship between the vehicles and their drivers. What they created impacted the future of automobiles and American culture more than anyone could have predicted. Director, producer and cinematographer Roger Sherman explores Chevy’s affect on the last hundred years in his new documentary CHEVY100: An American Story.

“When I received a call from Chevy asking if I’d make a film about the rich 100-year history of Chevrolet, I thought I was dreaming. Telling the stories of Corvette, Camaro, Chevelle? Pinch me,” said Sherman. “I’m so proud to be able to bring the history of this iconic American brand to the public.”

Chevy11

Moonshine operations, Hollywood sets and stock car races are just part of the story.

“Those who know something about the history of Chevrolet know that the dream car, now known as the concept car, was invented by Harley Earl, the first vice president of design at GM,” said Sherman.

The innovative thinking of the concept car connected automobiles to the drive in a new way, giving Chevy the ability to change with the needs and wants of the driver.  This altered the driver’s relationship with Chevrolet making it more intimate and personal. Owner or not, who doesn’t have a nostalgic Chevy story?

“For over thirty years I’ve been attracted to telling the stories of real people. I try to find subjects who are passionate about their endeavors whether it be someone who’s restoring a ’55 Chevy or a Medal of Honor recipient,” Sherman continues. “We had the opportunity to travel all over the country filming incredible cars, meeting wonderful people, and hearing amazing personal stories about people’s love for their Chevys.”
