Chevy Spark Tops Sales Projections in First 12 Months
For a company that profits heavily from fullsize trucks and SUVs, Chevrolet has a surprisingly big hit on its hands with its smallest offering, the Spark. Automotive News is reporting that in its first 12 months in the US, the microcar has amassed 26,869 sales, which is 35 percent higher than the automaker originally estimated for the hatchback. The Spark has been on sale in other global markets since 2009, and Chevy has sold more than 720,000 units worldwide since its introduction.
Through May, the Korean-built Spark has sold a little more than 14,000 units putting it closer to the success of the Fiat 500 (17,562) rather than the low numbers from the Smart Fortwo (3,678) and Scion iQ (1,919). More importantly, its transaction price is the lowest in its segment (and presumably, the industry) with cars going for $14,563 on average, helping to bring new, younger customers to the Chevy brand. As for its sophomore year here in the US, there are a couple notable changes in store. First, the all-electric Spark EV will be joining the lineup, while Techno Pink paint will be dropped in favor of a new purple hue called Grape Ice.

Another 5 Star Review on our Yelp Page!
We also received this brand new 5 star review on our Yelp page! Take a look at what this customer had to say about their experience with us:
"The staff was incredibly responsive to my questions. When I arrived at 6:45 to drop my car for service at 7:00 a.m., they were understanding that I had to be somewhere and accepted my car and keys without question even though technically they were not open. True customer service that goes above and beyond. Thank you."

"Excellent! My advisor, Chris Martin is kind, knowledgeable, professional and thorough. He listens to any concerns that I have and addresses all of them. All work was completed in the promised time and my vehicle was returned to me clean and ready to go. Being unemployed for several months Chris kept that in mind and always made the right decision\choice for what really needed to be repaired for the best cost. I consider Chris my personal advisor. My wife and I always have our vehicles serviced at Holz Motors."

Another 5 Star Review on Cars.com!
Take a look at this brand new 5 star review that we just received on our Cars.com page today!
"Recently bought a new Camaro from Holz and the experience was actually fun (who would've thought it??) They helped me with my custom colors and fit out and the car is exactly like I wanted! Then, just had my '88 Monte in for some TLC, and that's exactly what it got. The service guys didn't like the noisy new power steering pump they put in, so they pulled it and got a second one for me. Yes, it's old - but I got great service work at a reasonable price. I will definitely take the cars back to them from now on - and buy my next one there, too!"

Cruze Turbo Diesel: The Cleanest Dirty Car
The Chevrolet Cruze Turbo Diesel has a turbocharged engine that delivers an EPA estimated 46 mpg. Clean diesel cars generate at least 90% less Nitrogen Oxide and particulate emissions when compared to previous-generation diesel cars. So no matter how dirty your car gets, it's good clean fun.

Summer Heat Means More Auto Maintenance!
Regular maintenance and care for your car is necessary, especially during the hot summer months. Here are a few tips that can help you get your car ready for summer.
1) Maintain Your Tire Pressure. Heat from the hot concrete roads is the biggest natural enemy to your tires, so the most important thing you can do to combat this is to keep proper tire pressure. Check your tire pressure weekly to keep it at the automobile manufacturer recommended psi (you can find that information on the inside of the driver's door) NOT what it says on the side of the tire. You can also switch from air to Nitrogen, because Nitrogen does not lose pressure like air does.
2) Have a Good Battery. Often, the most expensive battery isn't necessarily the best one. Usually, the all-weather batteries are more expensive and made for colder climates, so try to find a mid-priced battery instead. If you have trouble starting your car, especially in the summer, pay attention. Get your battery checked right away to make sure it isn't about to go dead and leave you stuck in the heat with a car that won't start!
3) Check A/C Flow. Like humans in extreme heat, your car needs to sweat in order to remain "healthy." To keep your car healthy, make sure your cabin air filter (if your car has one) doesn't have any restrictions and has a good flow out the vents. Also, if you notice some dripping underneath the car when it's humid outside, don't be alarmed - that just means that your condensation tube is unrestricted and water is able to get out.
Road Trip Quick Tip
With summer gearing up, more and more people are hitting the road for a quick getaway. We want to make sure your car is in top condition to travel long distances, so here’s a suggestion for your next road trip…
Don’t wait until the last minute to fill up your tank on the road! Waiting until the gas needle gets close to EMPTY or the gas light goes not only puts you at risk of being stranded on the side of the road, but it can cause potential damage to your car. Running your car on very little fuel can pull sediment from the bottom of the fuel tank into the rest of the car's system. This can clog the fuel pump, fuel injectors or fuel filter. The fuel pump is electric and the sediment could also cause your car to overheat, costing you about $500 in repairs, which is definitely not something most of us want to spend money on, especially during vacation!
To prevent this from happening, re-fuel before your car is below a quarter tank and definitely before the gaslight goes on!

GM to Make Door Unlock, Remote Start Standard
Remotely unlocking doors, activating horn and lights and remote start for factory-equipped vehicles are among services General Motors will make standard via smartphone for five years through the OnStar RemoteLink Mobile App.
GM announced the new RemoteLink Key Fob Services program on Wednesday for OnStar-equipped 2014 Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac models – even if the owner declines to pay for other OnStar services. It is the broadest deployment of remote services offered through a mobile app by any auto manufacturer. Thirty-six 2014 model year GM vehicles are compatible with the RemoteLink mobile app.
“We know our customers value remote services,” said Mary Chan, president GM Global Connected Consumer. “GM owners request remote door unlock assistance through OnStar more than 60,000 times each month, so it makes sense for us to offer RemoteLink Key Fob Services to enable customers to lock, unlock or start their vehicle from anywhere they have a wireless or cellular connection.”
Remote start is the most popular remote service by current users of the RemoteLink Mobile App.
The complete set of RemoteLink Mobile App services remain available with a trial or paid OnStar subscription. Additional services include monitoring the status of the vehicle’s operating systems, including remaining oil life, fuel level range in miles, tire pressure, and miles per gallon. It also includes a one-touch connection to an OnStar Advisor for a simple request or emergency need. RemoteLink Mobile App users with the Directions and Connections plan can also send Turn-by-Turn directions directly from their smartphone to their vehicle.
Once a customer takes delivery of an eligible 2014 GM vehicle, he or she can simply download the free application to a compatible smartphone and agree to terms. The five-year period runs from the vehicle delivery date.
“Our vehicles are getting more connected, and so are we. As mobile devices become a bigger part of our lives, GM understands the importance of providing our customers the ability to use these devices as part of their vehicle experience,” said Chan.
“What’s great about the RemoteLink Key Fob Services is that it works far beyond the range of a traditional key fob, which can come in handy in a number of situations,” such as starting your car on a cold day as you leave the office or ensuring your vehicle is safely locked in the airport parking lot as you sit in the terminal.
“Customers expect the connection to their vehicle to be available anywhere they go and anytime they want to use it,” said Alan Batey, GM vice president, U.S. sales and service. “RemoteLink Key Fob Services represent simple, smart connectivity and another example of how our brands are evolving services and connecting with our customers.”
GM introduced the auto industry’s first mobile app when it launched RemoteLink for the Chevrolet Volt in 2010 using OnStar technology. Today, the RemoteLink Mobile App, which is available for nearly all GM brands, has been downloaded more than 1.5 million times with more than 320,000 regular users.
The full suite of OnStar in-vehicle services includes 24/7 access to a live Advisor, Automatic Crash Response, Stolen Vehicle Assistance, Hands-Free Calling, Vehicle Diagnostics, Turn-by-Turn Navigation (with the Directions and Connections package) and more.
