Hales Corners Wisconsin was settled more than 160 years ago by Seneca and William Hale, and their father, Ebenezer Hale.  They came to this area  in 1836-37.  Hales Corners subsequently became a crossroads village and is now a suburb of Milwaukee.  W. Ben Hunt was a writer, artist, and leader in the outdoor movement who lived in Hales Corners from 1920 until his death in 1970.

Hales Corners is located in southeastern Wisconsin, southwest of Milwaukee.   The current Village of Hales Corners occupies about 3 square miles and has a population of 7,800.
